West Valley Child Crisis Center's 3rd Annual Kids at Heart Fundraising Luncheon

West Valley Child Crisis Center, a 22 year-old Valley non-profit organization, hosted the third annual Kids at Heart Fundraising Luncheon on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Resort and Spa in Glendale.  More than 400 community leaders, corporations and community citizens attended the complimentary luncheon program.

This inspiring fundraising luncheon was held to raise support for the West Valley Child Crisis Center and awareness for child abuse in our community. 3TV’s "Good Morning Arizona" anchor, Olivia Fierro, served as emcee of the luncheon program, and Honorable Mayor Scruggs attended and presented a special message.

The West Valley Child Crisis Center provides temporary shelter and supervision for children who are victims of, or at risk of, abuse, neglect or abandonment, in a safe, nurturing, home-like environment staffed by quality care providers and to interact with the community to increase awareness of, and work to prevent, the cycle of child abuse.

Their mission is to provide a safe place where children are comfortable and loved, and given a chance to heal before being placed in a foster home, restored with their parent(s), or with a relative that the State deems able to provide decent care.

They are the only temporary shelter for abused children in the West Valley, and the largest non-profit shelter in Arizona. We operate under the control of the Department of Economic Security (DES) who licenses us annually and inspects monthly.
