Golden Karma Awards Founding Regents & Friends Gather for a Cocktail Party to Plan Celebrity Event

A very philanthropic group of Valley citizens gathered April 10th at Rima Fine Art gallery. Local nonprofit organization Success For Good, whose mission is to strengthen other nonprofits, invited its Founding Regents of the Golden Karma Awards and their friends to a cocktail party to hear about a very exciting event.

Coordinated by Item Magazine, the event was an opportunity for guests to learn more about the Golden Karma Awards, a mentoring and recognition program of Success For Good.

Several guests signed on to be Inaugural Regents, an annual commitment showing support of the initiative. Limited VIP tickets were available. There's now a waiting list for future tickets to the upcoming event.

The Golden Karma Awards will be televised nationally from a local resort the first Saturday in December. Seven to ten awards will be presented to nationally known celebrities, selected by a nominating committee. Emceed by a national level personality, the honorees will be introduced, along with a brief spotlight video about their charity.

The fully-packed day will begin in the morning by interviewing the honorees, taped in front of a live audience, a pre-event evening reception, a taped awards dinner, an awards show press party and VIP after-party.

The Golden Karma Awards are a mentoring and recognition program of Success For Good, designed to mentor millions by recognizing and creating awareness about the philanthropic actions of national level personalities and community leaders.

Local Phoenix Community Philanthropy Award honorees for 2005 were: Susan Karis, Clear Channel Radio and Jimmy Walker, Walker & Hebets.

National Celebrity Philanthropy Award honorees for 2005 were: Muhammad Ali (Parkinson's Issues), Bob Barker (Animal Issues), Katie Couric (Cancer Issues), Angelina Jolie (Humanitarian Aid), Paul Newman (Children's Issues), Robert Redford (Environmental Issues) and Harry Connick, Jr. (Hurricane Katrina Recovery).
