Statement of Purpose: Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest youth mentoring organization in the United States. With nearly 400 affiliates across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam, it served 255,000 children in 2007 – more than twice the number of five years ago. Locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona serves approximately 2,500 children a year throughout Maricopa, Pinal and Gila counties. For more than 50 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona has provided and supported these positive mentor relationships between caring adult mentors and children ages 6 to 18. By helping children realize their potential through professionally supported mentor relationships, Big Brothers Big Sisters is able to contribute to a healthier and stronger community.
